What kind of information can I modify?
If you have finalized an exchange and you would like to make some changes, it is now possible to modify:
- The dates of your exchange.
- The number of guests.
Either the host or the guest may request to modify the details of an exchange.
What are the steps that I need to follow?
1. Go to the conversation of the exchange you wish to modify and click on "View the exchange details":
2. Then click on "Modify the exchange":
3. You will then have to indicate the new dates and/or the new number of guests agreed with your exchange partner. Once you have selected the new information, click on "Send request":
4. Your exchange partner (host or guest), will receive an automatic message to confirm whether the exchange request is approved or rejected.
a. The member sending the request to modify an exchange may, at any time, cancel the request before their exchange partner makes a decision. To do so, it will be necessary to click on "Cancel the request":
b. The member receiving the change request may either approve the request or reject it.
In the case of rejecting the request, the originally agreed exchange details will be maintained.
In the case of accepting the request, the exchange details will be changed and updated.
What happens to the GuestPoints if I request a change in the dates of an exchange?
If the guest requests an increase in the number of nights of their exchange, the corresponding GuestPoints/night will be transferred to the host. (Please note that if the host modified the GuestPoints/night value after the exchange was finalized, the initial GuestPoints/night value used when finalizing the exchange will be applied).
- If the request leads to an increase in the number of nights of the exchange and the guest does not have enough GuestPoints, the guest will be offered the option to purchase the necessary GuestPoints.
- If the request leads to a reduction in the number of nights of the exchange and the host does not have enough GuestPoints, they will be removed from their account, which will then be left with a negative balance.
What happens if the change of dates is for a period later than the expiration date of the current membership?
In this case, it will be necessary for the member to have an active membership for the period in which the exchange will take place. As such, the membership will be automatically renewed once the modified request has been approved, in order to ensure the exchange is covered by our guarantees when the time comes.
