Non-reciprocal exchanges are when only one member travels to their exchange partner's home, such as:
- If you want to stay at another member's home but your exchange partner does not want to stay at your home.
- If your exchange partner wants to stay at your home but you do not want to stay at theirs.
To the right of your conversation in the exchange details, you can view how many GuestPoints you will receive (if you are the host) or how many you will give (if you are the guest). When you send or receive a request for a non-reciprocal exchange, GuestPoints are automatically calculated given the GuestPoints per night of the home.
Example exchange below:
You can see the number of GuestPoints per night for the home as well as the total number of GuestPoints either added (if you are the host) or subtracted (if you are the guest) from your account for this exchange. You can also view your GuestPoint transactions for all of your exchanges.
If you want to finalize a non-reciprocal exchange without GuestPoints, either you (if you are the host) or your exchange partner (if you are the guest) can do so by clicking on the GuestPoints per night of the home (Note: the pencil icon indicates you are able to modify that detail). Then click on the GuestPoints per night and change to 0. Press enter to save and the details should update. The host can only change the number of GuestPoints per night after discussing it with their partner.
GuestPoints are automatically transferred from the guest's account to the host's account when the exchange is finalized. For example, if you finalize an exchange today that will take place in five months time, the GuestPoints will be transferred today.
