You can choose which types of notifications you want to receive from us. We understand that you may not want to be notified about every single activity on the website, so we want to make sure that we’re only sending you emails that are relevant to you.
Here are the types of notifications you can choose to receive:
Friend requests - We’ll email you whenever someone wants to become your friend on HomeExchange.
Message replies - We’ll notify you whenever someone responds to one of your messages on HomeExchange.
Friend request acceptances - We’ll let you know whenever someone accepts your friend request on HomeExchange.
Sponsorship success - We’ll inform you when someone you sponsored successfully joins HomeExchange.
Unresponded messages - We’ll remind you to respond to any requests you haven’t answered yet.
Home favorites - We’ll notify you whenever someone adds your home to their favorites list.
Expired calendars - We’ll alert you when your Home Exchange calendar is out-of-date and needs to be updated.
Unrated exchanges - We’ll remind you to rate any exchanges you’ve completed that haven’t yet been rated.
Rated exchanges - We’ll let you know whenever one of your exchanges has been rated.
Favorite homes availability - We’ll notify you when any of your favorite homes have new availability.
You can opt out of receiving any of these notifications, but you’ll always receive an email notification when you receive an exchange request on the website - it’s important for you to know that someone wants to exchange with you!
To customize your notification preferences, simply hover your mouse over the "My account" button in the top-right corner of the website and select "Settings" from the drop-down menu. From there, you can toggle the orange "Yes" buttons to "No" for any types of activity you prefer not to receive notifications about.
It is not possible to update these preferences on the app, so we would suggest logging into your web or mobile browser if you wish to modify your email alerts.
