If you're looking to host members for GuestPoints, it's really helpful to to make that 100% clear in your home listing. There are a few different ways you can attract people looking to use their GuestPoints.
Mark your calendar in blue
There are three different types of availability you can display in your home’s calendar. If you are looking to host a member for GuestPoints, you should mark your calendar accordingly.
Set any dates your home will be available in blue. This will show as "Available for GuestPoint exchange". Members searching for a GuestPoints exchange during these dates will then see your home in their search results - above others that have not specified this availability!
If you are just looking to get more GuestPoints without wishing to stay in another member's home on those dates, it is vital to mark these dates in blue. Marking dates in green (as "Open to any type of exchange") might deter members from messaging you if they are just looking for a non-reciprocal exchange.
Regularly updating your calendar will always help you receive more requests. On your home listing, members can see when your availability was last amended. Seeing that your calendar was freshly updated will encourage members to send requests, as they will know those dates are more likely to still be available.
Update your home description and title
Just in case members don’t make it to your listing’s calendar, you can add what types of exchanges you are interested in on your home’s description. Often members include information on the locations they wish to visit, or dates their home will be free. Signposting what you are looking for in multiple places on your listing and profile will help attract future exchange partners.
Look into old conversations
You may be able to find someone to stay in your home by checking through your account. If you received a request from a member a few months ago - even a year ago - and you were not able to host them at the time, you could reach out to them to see if they are still interested. Let them know your new availability to inquire if it might be of interest to them.
Check who has added your home to their favourites
You can also see members who have added your home to their favorites. There’s no harm in reaching out to them. To see these members, click "My account" in the top-right of the website and then select "They love my home" in the drop-down menu. Here you will see members who have added your home to their favorites.
