Yes: you can offer an exchange in a private room in your home !
Hosting guests in a private room
Hospitality exchange is when a host member welcomes his exchange partner and they both agree for the host to stay at home (as if a friend was coming to stay. It can be organised both as reciprocal and as non reciprocal exchange.
How does it work?
Your exchange partner will stay in your spare bedroom and will share with you the common areas (kitchen, living room...), all according to the mutual agreement before the exchange is finalized.
To be able to finalize the hospitality exchange, you will need to add your spare bedroom as a brand-new listing on your account that will have all the details added accordingly.
Once you are ready to finalize the exchange, make sure that you are both in agreement that your host will be present during the stay and that you have agreed upon all the details of sharing a home. This way you can avoid any potential misunderstandings and have a positive experience.
How do I add a private room to my profile?
After clicking on "Add a home" and choosing the type of accommodation, you'll need to select the "private room" option :
Then fill in the listing as usual, taking care to select the number of beds available for the private room. GuestPoints will then be calculated automatically.
