Apartments, houses or even castles are accommodations that we welcome in our community! Any fixed structure is accepted, for example a docked boat or a fixed mobile home can also be exchanged.
As a tenant, it is your responsibility to verify the terms of your rental contract and to determine if you must notify your landlord prior to inviting HomeExchange members in your home.
If you are unsure, the best option is to notify your landlord prior to exchanging. HomeExchange cannot in any case be held responsible if you invite guests in your home against the provisions of your rental contract.
Our website allows you to both exchange your home while you are away or invite guests to stay in your guest rooms or independent living spaces while you are present; just don't forget to notify your guests before finalizing the exchange.
If you would like to post a room from your small hotel and/or Bed and Breakfast, you are welcome to do so. But as hotels/ BnB rooms do not have the same amenities as homes (eg kitchen), your listing needs to reflect that this is a hotel /BnB and that some of the amenities are not available, accordingly all the amenities members cannot use for free cannot be marked on your listing. Only those that are available for free usage can be noted. All this needs to be well communicated on your listing and within the message with your potential exchange partner to avoid any potential misunderstandings.
Additionally, no money can be requested or transferred.
You may also create listings for more than one home on your account. To do this you must first be logged in to your account. Then, place your mouse over your profile photo at the top right of your screen and select "Add a home."
