In the HomeExchange team, we believe that our platform should be a true reflection of our community—reliable, responsive and respectful. Our goal is to make sure that every interaction you have on our platform is seamless, trustworthy and fully aligned with the values of our community.
With this in mind, and to ensure that you get timely responses and reactions so that you can plan and organize your home swaps efficiently, we’ve set up a timeline for finalizing non-reciprocal exchanges after they have been pre-approved.
How long do I have to confirm a pre-approved exchange?
Guests have four days to finalize a GuestPoints exchange after the host pre-approves it. If the exchange isn’t confirmed in that timeframe, the pre-approval will expire, and you’ll need to restart the process if both sides still want to go ahead.
Once the pre-approval expires, the dates will be freed up on the host’s calendar and they will be free to pre-approve and finalize with a different exchange partner.
What if my exchange is set to start in less than 4 days?
For GuestPoints exchanges scheduled to start within the next four days, the pre-approval will expire at the end of the exchange’s start date. For example, if the exchange is set to start on July 1st, you’ll have until midnight on July 1st to confirm.
Tip: It’s best to confirm as soon as possible, so your host has plenty of time to get everything ready for your stay!
Will this affect my reciprocal exchanges?
No, the pre-approval timeframe only applies to non-reciprocal GuestPoints exchanges. Pre-approvals for reciprocal exchanges don’t expire.
