After the finalisation of your exchange, you may receive an email from HomeExchange about the detection of an anomaly with your exchange which would look like this:
Why did I receive this email? What does it mean?
We have put in place an algorithm that verifies each exchange to protect the authenticity of our community. This system ensures that "false exchanges" do not occur and to ensure that all exchanges proceed well.
If you received this email, it means that HomeExchange needs you to confirm the nature of the exchange: did you finalise this exchange with someone you know? Is it with a family member, friend or acquaintance that you are exchanging with? Or is this exchange "normal"? (The algorithm can sometimes be wrong!)
In any case, if you receive this email, it does not mean that the person you are conducting the exchange with cannot be trusted.
What should I do?
The most important thing to do would be to reply to the email and explain the situation to us. We can discuss where the anomaly could have originated from and, in the event that there was an error in the algorithm, we can rectify the problem as soon as possible. Please rest assured that we will always find a solution.
Can I have an exchange with family members, friends or acquaintances?
Exchanges with family members, friends or acquaintances are not allowed and will be detected by the algorithm as an anomaly.
Furthermore, to avoid unreliable ratings and reviews, these kind of exchanges are not allowed. For more information on this you can check this article.
